The fibers will start to spring up under the heat. Apply a hot clothes iron to the cloth. To remove furniture dents from carpet made of synthetic fibers start by placing a towel rag or other absorbent material under the carpet where the dent is to protect the floor underneath. For deeper dents lay a moist hand towel over the dent.

On medium heat gently iron over the towel. Instead use that towel to eliminate those pesky carpet dents altogether. Indentation in carpet caused by furniture leg. The pads help create an extra layer under the carpet that absorbs the pressure from the furniture thus eliminating the chances of marks appearing in the first place.

Indentations in carpet usually result when furniture has been moved. Repeat the process until the indentation goes away. Next fill the dent with ice cubes and let the cubes sit for at least 4 hours. Set an iron on medium heat or on the steam setting.

Place a damp cloth over the indentation. Carpet pads have two major benefits they make your rug even more comfortable and soft to walk on and they serve as a prevention method against dents. Carpeting provides a cushy surface underfoot while protecting the floor beneath from potential scratches caused by furniture legs. Leave the towel on the divot and remove when dry.

Finally vacuum over the affected carpet area so the fibers are sucked to maximum height.
