Car Awnings Dont Work

The awning is rather long around 2000 mm long so probably not the best car awning but should fit just about any truck and mid size suv.

Motorized retractable patio awnings are the easiest to use but the functionality of the motor and the telescopic arms may need more maintenance. Although i can see the wire i don t think i can possibly reach down there to get at the connection. Do you hear any type of clicking noise like the motor is trying to bring the awning in or just dead silence. If there is no sound then it could be a completely failed motor or even just the switch.

The telescopic arms could experience a gas leak requiring them to be refilled or your awning could need a new motor which could be a hassle. Check the power connections to see if there is a short in the wiring or the cord is not plugged in. If it s clicking it could be the gear stripped or even a binding and the motor tries but shuts down due to the binding. Simply pull it out and rope the legs into the begs.

If it is a dometic awing un plug the motor up buy the awning tube an hot wire it to the batterie if the motor works it is the switch i climbed a ladder and had a look down the front awning tube but it s in the closed position. There are several problems that can cause the awning not to work correctly. Take some time inspecting the awning for any signs of warping weather damage rusting tearing in the awning fabric itself or the motor overheating and working too hard.
