If constructed of flexible polyvinyl such as is common in inflatable pools you will need to do something other than paint the walls to reliably change the color. This almost doubles the cost to restore your coping.

A dark colored pool will do a much better job of masking a dirty pool. For all intents and purposes the liner itself is totally black. If you don t believe me put a glass of water in front of a lightbulb and see if you can feel the heat passing through the water.
